New Disposables Law in effect in Unincorporated LA County

As of May 1st, 2023, a new law has gone into effect in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County that prohibits the use of single-use plastic food containers, cups, utensils, and straws. This new law is a significant step towards reducing the amount of plastic waste that ends up in our landfills and oceans.

The law requires that food vendors provide customers with reusable or compostable alternatives to single-use plastic items.
